Gulfstream Aerospace names Lean Six Sigma manager

Gulfstream Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics, has appointed Charles Wood the company’s program manager for Lean Six Sigma. As such, he is responsible for developing and implementing the Lean Six Sigma program throughout Gulfstream and General Dynamics Aviation Services facilities.

 

Wood has been with General Dynamics for 22 years, holding positions in quality assurance and process engineering. Prior to this appointment, Wood served as a value stream manager at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, Conn. Before that, he was senior manager for initial phase quality control at Gulfstream.

 

Wood is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Gordon College in Wenham, Mass., and a master’s degree in business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.

 

Wood reports to Max Mills, director of corporate quality and product safety.
