Midwest Renewable completes $120M windfarm in Iowa

Midwest Renewable Energy Corporation (Joice, Iowa), a subsidiary of Grupo Iberdrola S.A. (Bilbao, Pais Vasco Spain) has completed construction and commenced full commercial operation of the $120 million, 80-megawatt Top Of Iowa II windfarm in Kensett, Iowa.

Construction on the project started in June 2007 and was completed in the fall of that year. Midwest Renewable Energy commenced full commercial operation of the project in late December 2007. The project consisted of 40 2.0 G80-series wind turbine generators that will generate enough renewable energy to power approximately 24,000 homes in the Kensett area.
